About us: Central Cherry Orchard LP is a young orchard, which was established 2019, in a beautiful part of Central Otago, just 5 minutes from Alexandra. We grow only cherries. With 90% of our being able to be picked from ground level. Then the other 10% requiring the use of our short ladders.
Position Overview: As a cherry picker, you will be working outside in the orchard. Harvesting cherries by hand into buckets. This is a physical job which requires good stamina, and attention to fruit quality.
Start Dates:
We are looking for 20 pickers to harvest our main varieties which will start on the 5th of January.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick ripe cherries carefully by hand.
- Fill buckets efficiently and accurately according to quality standards.
- Follow hygiene and safety rules while handling cherries.
- Work efficiently to meet targets and deadlines by the end of the day while maintaining quality.
Skills & Requirements:
- Valid work visa or eligible to work in New Zealand.
- Be physically fit and able to stand, walk, reach and lift buckets each day.
- Previous fruit picking and ladder experience.
- On time, reliable, willing, and available to work required days.
- Positive attitude and good work ethic.
- Follow health and safety rules and orchard policies.
Working Conditions:
- Outside orchard work (weather dependent)
- Early starts (approx. 8 hours days)
- Closed toe shoes (appropriate footwear is a must)
