Machinery Operator

We are a family-owned horticultural business seeking two Machinery Operators to join our team. 

Key attributes: 

• Practical, reliable and efficient;
• Skilled in the safe and efficient operation of orchard-based machinery and equipment;
• Able to pass a drug/alcohol test;
• Holds a clean drivers licence;
• Holds a Forklift certificate (preferable);
• Holds a Growsafe certificate (preferable).

Responsibilities:

• Communicating with the Operations Manager and Orchard Manager on a daily basis to plan, prioritise and assign work tasks.
• Ensuring that all assigned tasks are undertaken in a manner that is safe, efficient and compliant.
• Reporting any issues with machinery and/or equipment to the Orchard Manager
• Ensuring that the orchard is kept clean, tidy and is a safe working environment.

Duties/tasks:

• Mowing/mulching
• Crop spraying
• Weed spraying
• Groundwork
• Harvest driver/Supervisor
• Forklift operation (during harvest) 
• Other general orchard duties as required.
• Reporting all near misses, hazards and incidents.

These are Fixed-Term positions (45 hours/week; Monday - Friday; 7am-4pm) which may lead to permanent roles and are based in Tapora, North Auckland.

Must be a NZ Citizen/Resident or hold a valid work visa.
