*Only guarantee work for New Zealand Citizens/Residents and Valid Visa Holders*

Core Objectives:

  • Remove excess, damaged or poorly positioned fruit by hand in accordance with crop-loading and spacing instructions.
  • Select fruit to retain based on size, position, condition and supervisor guidance.
  • Work carefully around branches, buds and developing fruit to minimise tree and crop damage.
  • Use ladders or approved platforms safely where required.

Required skills and qualities:

  • Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions.
  • Able to work at a steady pace while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Good hand–eye coordination, attention to detail and care when handling fruit.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to communicate concerns and ask for clarification when needed.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Able to bend, reach, twist, climb orchard ladders where assigned, and safely lift and carry loads within personal capability and workplace instructions.
  • Able to work outdoors in changing weather and on uneven ground, or indoors in a cool, busy packhouse environment.
  • Able to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with hygiene and biosecurity procedures.
  • Previous orchard, horticulture, packhouse or production experience is useful but not essential; training will be provided.
