K&F McLean Ltd and McLean Orchards Ltd (“McLFruit”) is a third generation of pipfruit and kiwifruit growers. 

 We’re looking for reliable and hardworking orchard workers to join our  apple teams in Lower Moutere, Motueka. This role is hands-on and essential to ensuring our orchards produce high-quality fruit.

It’s ideal for people who enjoy working outdoors, don’t mind a physical work, and want to be part of a friendly, collaborative team. Reasonable fitness is required, as the roles involve working on your feet throughout the day and regularly climbing ladders.

What you’ll be doing:  

Apple thinner 

We have the following intakes available:

• Intake 1: start date 9 November till approx 23 December (20 positions)
• Intake 2: start date 16 November till approx 23 December (20 positions)
• Intake 3: start date 19 November till approx 23 December (15 positions)

• Position description: Removing excess fruitlets and poor-quality fruit from the trees, using a 2.4m ladder 

• Rate: $23.95 + 8% holiday pay ($25.38) or/and contract (piece) rates available 

• Working hours: Weather dependable. Monday till Friday (6.30am – 4pm; 9-hr days). You must be available to work weekends 
• Preference will be give to applicants that are willing and able to complete the full thinning season
