Description

We’re looking for reliable and hardworking orchard workers to join our apple & pear picking team in Lower Moutere, Motueka. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role that is essential to producing high-quality fruit. You’ll be on your feet all day, climbing 2.4m heigh ladder, lifting bags of picked fruit, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. This role is perfect for people who enjoy hard work, being part of a collaborative team, and taking pride in the quality of their work.
You won’t need your gym subscription – get fit (and paid) while working for us!

What you’ll be doing:
• Dates: Approx start mid- February 2026 until mid-May. We might carry some staff to complete the pruning season with us. We are looking for the candidates that are able to complete the full picking season with us (approx. 3 months).
• Position description: Picking apples to a standard using a 2.4m ladder
• Rate: $23.50 + 8% holiday pay AND contract (piece) rates. Please note that holiday pay is paid out at the end of the employment term.
• Working hours: Weather dependable. 7.30am – 5pm; (9-hr days). You must be available to work weekends, as we operate 7 days a week during harvest.

Harvest Quality Control (QC) Team:

We’re also looking for Harvest QC team members to follow our picking team throughout the day, conducting bin checks for picker's damage and pests. This role is physically active, as you’ll be on your feet all day, moving between the bins. You’ll need to be comfortable using an iPad to issue bin cards via the Hectre app. This position is ideal for people with an eye for detail and good communication skills, as you’ll be providing feedback directly to pickers while helping maintain the highest fruit quality standards.
