Description

The Packing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing packing, lidding, labelling, and grading activities at the outlet of the machine to ensure all packed product meets marketer specifications and cherry grade standards. This role works closely with box erecting operators and box makers to maintain a consistent supply of packaging throughout the shift.

The Packing Supervisor provides on-the-job training and performance feedback to team members and follows direction from the Line Manager to align daily priorities with production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage team leader functions in line with standard operating procedures, food safety requirements, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area, ensuring staff are present, informed of daily production and quality targets, and working efficiently.
  • Build and support a capable team through coaching, training, clear communication, and regular feedback.
  • Conduct staff inductions and ensure training modules are completed and maintained to the required standard.
  • Communicate effectively with the Line Manager to ensure priorities and production requirements are met.
  • Perform additional tasks as reasonably required to support the smooth operation of the packing line, acknowledging the role may evolve over time.
