Olivers Horticulture Harvest 2026

General Information

Olivers Horticulture is a family-owned and operated kiwifruit business based in Paengaroa, Bay of Plenty. We manage our family kiwiberry and red, gold and green kiwifruit orchards.

We are on the search for some individuals to assist with our kiwifruit harvest (picking starts approx. 8th April - early June).

  • Kiwifruit picking is a physically demanding job, so we require people that are happy to put in the hard work and deliver good quality!
    • Your arms are above your head all day.
    • Picking bag 15kg +
    • Must be physically fit & active.
  • Pay rate:
    • We pick as a team (12 people) and are paid a bin rate (approx. $26 - $32 per bin depending on bin size).
    • Previous years pickers have earnt anywhere between $26 - $36 per hour (including holiday pay).
  • Experience:
    • No experience required; all training provided.

Requirements
- A valid NZ Working Visa - unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship for employment under Recognised Seasonal Employer Visa (RSE), Accredited Employer       Work Visa (AEWV) framework, Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV) or the Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV)- NZ bank account and IRD number are required.
- Must be reliable and physically fit.
- Due to the nature of the work, you must be between 165cm - 179cm, this ensures that you can work comfortably under the canopy

Accommodation & Transport
Short term accommodation options available - we have Van parking ($80 pp per week) and Rooms ($160/pp per week) available for the team which is on one of our orchards.

Transport - must have your own vehicle to get between orchards, there is no public transport available, and it is not possible to walk or cycle between orchards
