Flower Picker – JOB DESCRIPTION

Seasonal Role – 3-4 weeks

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity for a seasonal worker picking flowers from kiwifruit orchards. Our highest performers last season were earning over $55 an hour!

  • Availability to work for the full month of November.

  • Self-motivated person – This role is piece rate, meaning you are paid per kilogram of male flowers that you pick. The more flowers that you pick the more you earn so you can control how much you are paid.

  • You will always be paid at least minimum wage with our average earners banking around $30-35/hr. Pay rate may vary according to conditions.

  • Over 160cm tall (in order to reach the vines which are 170cm – 180cm from the ground).

  • Enjoy working outdoors and being physical.

  • Valid work permit/visa (we cannot accept SSE/Student visas).

  • NZ Bank Account and IRD Number.

  • No previous experience required.

This casual contract is great for people on working holiday visas, locals and anyone who enjoys piece rate work. The flower picking season generally starts in the first week of November and lasts for around 3 weeks. Every year is slightly different and start/end dates are impacted by many factors such as weather and flowering timing.

The role will require you to travel to different orchards around the Te Puke and Tauranga area.  In fine conditions we usually work 7:30am-5pm up to 6 days a week. In rain conditions working hours may be adjusted or postponed.
