Being part of a supervised team, you will be removing excess fruitlets from trees so that the remaining ones grow large enough.

Work involves using ladders. It is physically demanding work so you must be confident in your base level of fitness to apply. Any previous orchard, farm work or labouring experience would be an advantage but is not essential. As you will be working up a ladder, you must be comfortable with heights.  You need to be fit and healthy!

The work is quite repetitive so you will need the ability to self-motivate to achieve goals and manage yourself when the work is physically demanding. Temperatures in Central Otago can be extreme. The ability to work independently will be an asset to your application.

This role is around 40 hours a week but is weather dependent.  You may be required to work Saturdays if the weather is unfavourable during the week. A normal workday will be between 8.00am and 5.00pm. This may vary depending on the workload. Fixed-term work from around mid October till late December. You will need to provide bank and IRD details. Workers are paid  $22.70 per hour plus 8% holiday pay.

Accommodation is available on the orchard, located near Roxburgh. Cost is $17 per night per person in a twin share room. Full facilities provided - kitchen, laundry, bathroom.  Other accommodation options are available if you are self-contained. PLEASE STATE WHAT SORT OF ACCOMMODATION YOU REQUIRE.
