We have an exciting opportunity as a Field Team Leader within our team based in Mount Maunganui, Bay of Plenty (or a remote Team Leader in Pukekohe).

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Field Team Leader. The role is primarily based in Mount Maunganui, Bay of Plenty. The role is Dec - May and from Feb - May, the team operates 7 days a week. The role is fast-paced and physical but most importantly, the successful candidate will be a people leader. The teams will collect kiwifruit samples from the Bay of Plenty and beyond to be tested in our Mount Maunganui lab as a key component of Zespri’s assurance programme.
The Field Team Leader will work closely with the Section Manager and other Team Leaders to manage all aspects of field operations. This will include recruiting, training and organising their own team, while also scheduling and coordinating daily operations and the day-to-day management of staff ensuring that daily collection targets are achieved. This role is not just a desk job, and will spend much of their time (~75%) out in the orchards. Whilst working in the field, Team Leaders will be collecting samples with members of their team as part of their training programme and beyond that as a quality check to ensure that everyone is meeting health and safety standards.
- Previous staff management/supervisory experience in a similar role, including scheduling and staff training
- Excellent operational focus with attention to time management, prioritisation and work allocation to achieve the required turn-around times
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Comfortable with technology such as smartphones and productivity software
