Our client, Scottfresh, is seeking a Dispatch 2IC person. Scottfresh produces supermarket ready vegetables and salad crops for the New Zealand market.

About the role: 

• Based in North Canterbury: Claverley Beach and Spotswood. 
• Immediate start available.
• Full Time, permanent role. 40-60 hours per week.
• Hours vary by the season. Longer hours are required in summer.
• Day shift. Monday - Friday and every second Saturday.
• Accommodation is available with this job. All accommodation is close to the workplace.
• Starting rate: $25 - $30 per hour. 

About the tasks:

• Work alongside the Dispatch Manager in a team of 2-3 people
• Work with Scottfresh’s Harvest Supervisor, Production Team and Sales Department to fulfill orders. 
• Speak with truck drivers and logistics coordinators to make sure orders arrive in a timely manner.
• Order packaging to ensure produce can be dispatched when required.
• Drive a forklift to prepare orders for dispatch.
• Monitor quality of produce according to the internal product specifications.
• Complete relevant paperwork such as dispatch dockets or stock sheets.

About you:

• You will be comfortable working independently. The role will require you to work unsupervised.
• You will be a confident communicator. You will need to speak to logistics companies and work smoothly with other departments inside Scottfresh.
• You will be confident working under pressure. The role can be very busy, with multiple trucks arriving at the same time.
• Previous horticultural or primary industry experience is useful, but not essential. The right attitude and willingness to learn are more important.
