Description

As our Coolstore supervisor, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the smoth running of our packed product coolstore of our operation. 

You’ll play a key role during the busy harvest and post-harvest period, supervising staff,  coordinating inventory movement, and ensuring product security and health and safety  standards are met — every day. 

You’ll also play a vital role in developing and supporting your team — coaching  seasonal staff, creating a culture of high performance, and ensuring every team  member has the tools and support to succeed. 

You’ll work closely with the Packhouse manager and Compliance manager to ensure accurate product handling, efficient team workflows, and excellent outcomes for our  growers, transporters, and internal teams. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage day-to-day inventory management.
  • Ensuring stores are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and product security.
  • Oversee product receiving, storage, and dispatch to maintain quality standards.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling, task delegation, and performance management.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health & safety, food safety, and cold chain protocols are met.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and reporting using Radfords software.
  • Lead and carry out general coolstore monitoring and machinery maintenance during harvest and post-harvest periods.
  • Support the professional growth and development of your team through training, feedback, and mentoring, during the harvest and post-harvest period.
  • Effectively balance multiple tasks and timelines during the high-pressure periods.
  • Contribute to planning across the operation to meet evolving business needs.

Skills and Experience 

  • Previous experience in coolstore, inventory control, customer reporting or logistics operations (ideally in the food industry).
  • Previous experience and comprehensive understanding of product security.
  • Strong attention to detail and computer literacy.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with a proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to clearly and professionally communicate across all departments to motivate and develop a high-performing happy team 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure.
  • Reliable and flexible to working extended hours during peak seasons (including weekends).
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
  • Current forklift license and full NZ driver’s license.
  • A collaborative attitude and commitment to safety, quality, and team values.
