Southern Paprika is a Recognized Seasonal Employer looking for energetic individuals to join our team in our new avocado packhouse.

The Company 

Southern Paprika Limited (SPL) is a leading New Zealand capsicum grower located in Warkworth and we currently operate 27 hectares of glasshouse with plans for expansion. We are excited to announce that we are starting up a brand-new Avocado Packhouse that will be supplying both domestic and export avocados with expected start in mid-June. We are looking for positions in all aspects of the Capsicum and Avocado Packhouse to start as soon as possible.

We require motivated team players to assist the Packhouse Management team with a focus on quality, food safety, efficiency, and teamwork.

There are various positions available, including:

• Fruit Grading
• Fruit Packing
• Fruit Bagging
• Carton Erecting

Requirements:

• Flexibility with hours is critical to deal with our seasonal demands. This is a full-time role possibly requiring some evening and weekend work.

• You must be keen to learn, a practical thinker and show initiative.
• These are physical and busy roles. You will need a reasonable level of fitness and be able to work well under pressure.
• You must be able to work well in a team environment.
• A good attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications:

• No Formal qualifications are required;

Experience:

• Any relevant practical experience grading fruit, packing fruit or any specific experience with the horticulture industry or packhouse environment will be looked upon favorably.
