Work is available from late June for the pruning season.

Pruning takes place when the harvest has been completed and the leaves have dropped from the tree. Branches are selected and removed to enable the tree to develop so that it will produce an ideal crop for the following season.

Pruning is a skilled task and requires a good understanding of how trees develop. Experience is preferred but training can be provided. Large branches are removed using a saw/chainsaw. Smaller branches are removed using loppers, hydraulic loppers, secateurs.

Ladders or hydralada are used to reach the tops of trees.

We are looking for enthusiastic people wanting a position that could lead to further work or those that simply enjoy outdoor work.

The work is physically demanding. Lifting/shifting orchard ladders, working at height on ladders or platforms are requirements for this role, so workers must be physically able with no fear of heights.
