Murphy Horticulture is a family-owned business operating a vineyard as well as being the only export apple grower in the region, providing our staff with unique diversity and experience. We're located within 5 minutes of Blenheim in the magnificent Marlborough region.

Apple picking work is available from approximately 17th February (maturity dependent) for 8 weeks. It requires workers to carefully select and pick fruit. You will be trained in all aspects of the task. You will be using picking bags and a ladder (approx. 2 meters tall) so will need to be safety conscious, comfortable with heights and reasonably fit. You may also be required from time to time to help with other tasks such as moving or collecting up reflective cloth.

Picking is paid on a minimum hourly rate of $23.15/hr with possible hourly bonus rates. This gives you the opportunity to earn significantly more than the standard hourly wage if you are keen and capable. Picking is generally 6 days a week, however needs to work around any wet weather. We would also consider flexi contracts for people are not able to commit to 40 hours per week.

Good level of fitness, comfortable with heights, positive attitude , must not be colour blind.
