About Us
3 Kings Cherries grow some of the finest premium cherries in New Zealand, renowned both locally and internationally. Our orchard is steeped in heritage, and our fruit is grown with care, passion, and pride.

🍒 When Does the Season Start?

Our harvest season typically runs from mid-December to early February. This is when most of our seasonal work takes place in both the orchard and our modern packhouse.

🔧 What Skills Do I Need?

While previous cherry-picking experience is a plus, it's not essential. We provide on-the-job training, and we’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable workers who are ready to be part of a hardworking team.

You will need:

• A valid New Zealand Working Holiday Visa that covers the full harvest season (15 December – 5 February)

• A New Zealand bank account

• A New Zealand IRD number

🎓 Is Training Provided?

Absolutely. We believe our people are our greatest asset. All staff receive training to ensure you’re confident and safe in your role. Our supportive management team is always available to answer any questions or concerns.

💰 How Much Can I Earn?

Pay varies depending on your role and experience:

• Orchard roles (like picking) are typically paid contract rates (per bucket/bin/tree).

• Packhouse roles are paid hourly.

👷‍♀️ What Jobs Are Available?

In the Orchard (Cherry Picking):

• Use lightweight aluminium ladders and a harness with a 5kg cherry bucket.

• Mostly bunch picking

• Paid on contract per bucket (rate varies by variety)

In the Packhouse:

• Hourly-paid roles in our new, state-of-the-art facility:

  • Export sorting (quality control on sorting belts)

  • Box making and distribution

  • Local market sorting and boxing

  • Weigh-station and final packaging

  • Chiller work (inwards/outwards goods)

  • Operation of our Red Pearl 360° optical cherry sorter
